This one being my first blog is a special one, not only because it is 'Da Begining' but also because the context is very unlike the image i have carried all through my life.
Yes indeed this one has nothing to do with pranks but something about my college life.
The long wait was gladfully over and we were in college. It dates back to the days when I used to go to school in the school bus and suddenly finding myself seated in route number 764. Me and some of my close buddies were by-default together in the bus, no matter what time of the day we left. Someday the mood of the group would be esctatic and someday it would be low. Low , not because of some personal issues but....
This 'but' could have been anything, be it some exam pressure or maybe the load of those burdensome assignments given by the so 'undertstanding' teachers.
The hardwork doesn't mean that we attended all our letures or did something out of the book, but something to do with the mental saturation.
My group, which i can dare say was the best in the whole college is still as strong as a wall, as close as two sides of a coin. The 'all famous' group had 7 pillars each with a distinctive nature but yet such to suite the group perfectly. We were a root cause of envy of many others, who considered us to be bit secretive about our groups pranks and everything. But i think that this is where the true essence of unity came. Come what may, be it Xtreme happiness or immence pressure , we needed no one apart from ourselves.
It all started with second semester when I came to NSIT . The big notion that loomed large in my mind was that the college life in NSIT is not as xciting as in DCE and the students are just 'ghissoos'. But fortunately enough i happened to meet this group of 4 guys from our class who just didn't fit in any of my apprehensions. They were very funloving and , i don't know why and how but from the very first day I could relate myself with them. We had 2 more of us from DCE coming to NSIT. Slowly the frequencies started to match to an extent that we didn't bother about anything else when we were together. This was how the group came together.
Second, Third and fourth semesters were entirely dedicated to cricket. Just can't find a single day when we didn't play cricket. The fifth and sixth semesters were somewhat bit different coz we became little serious for projects and studies and in the process completed six- seven projects under various guides, but all of them together. Eventhough we all became somewhat 'project diggers' still the 'masti' times were anyways not very far off. We could somehow find ample time for 'Thass' in the admin block or watching movies or partying in the hostel or for everything else.....
The annual fest was really awaited and every year it left some story of its kind. Every night during the fests was so very same, didn't know whats happening but all that was happening was FUN. I don't think i should write why every other night was so very same. The biggest mystery was the eye of one of us who managed to get cockeyed without breaking his specs and still not knowing how he got hit. We left him safely in the hostel room to sleep and when he came to our room in the morning......
The first three years were a cocktail of masti and masti and masti.. i mean masti in all proportions.
Then came the much awaited fourth year, the time for which every NSITian had waited, the time to get placed. It started on 16th Aug'05, the day TCS came to our college for campus placements. Everyone had put in his / her best to get the day1 job. Almost whole college peeped through the audi for the presentation and then the written tests. The competition was BIG and 5 of us made it through the written tests. Three rounds of interview and then the results, me and one more from us made it to TCS, but very shockingly one of us was rejected after the three rounds of interview, probably the only such poerson in whole college. So the days eveolved and slowly all of us started finding jobs. But here was what the true test of our friendship came. The whole college boasted about small but united groups who were just like alter-egos , but placement days revealed it all. Others who called themselves friends started back-biting and what not. Soon the whole college , or i must say the whole batch of fourth year was splitted. BUT not us...
Yes , probably the only one of its kind, our group had grown stronger. The placement times were really tough for some of us who got placed after many companies had gone. Still we all were together and none of us went home till each one of us was placed. We had our bags with us in the hostel and stayed there till the last of us got placed. The company, Keane, came as a bliss to us as now whole group had jobs. I can still remember the moment, me along with two others were in the hostel ragging the juniors when we got a phone call saying the results are out and our buddy is through. If measured in decibels , the noise that we made at that point of time in the hostel would have exceeded the sound of landing of a plane.
Truly the placement days were BAD in a sense that we saw some of us in real pressure. We cried together, drank together but the key word was 'together'. Seeing the unity in our group, many , yes many tried to intrude in our group just for placement period. Obviously we didn't include them in our group but we gave numerous aliased written tests for others. The times came and went but what stayed was the group.
Having written all this, i think i shall introduce my group to all of you.
In no particular order they are:
